Creating the perfect seating solution for theatres, concert halls and opera houses is an art in itself. Considering all the different functional aspects is hugely complex: seating comfort, aesthetics, durable and dependable materials, perfect sightlines, compliance with fire protection and other regulations and of course acoustics need to be considered. Increasingly, multifunctional use plays an important role. Above all economic, architectural and artistic requirements have to be closely aligned. For 35 years I have been working professionally with chairs. From 1988 to 2003 I was working as Managing Director for Vitra and almost 20 years ago I started my own company where I successfully focused on developing large international projects for seating in theatres, concert halls and opera houses.
